Thanksgiving Day...Late

I know this post is SO overdue and you're probably all into Christmas now.. leaving Thanksgiving forgotten and lonely.. But I thought I would share some pictures of our Thanksgiving and let you know how it went.. because it's a Thursday.. and Thanksgiving is on a Thursday.. I don't know where I was going with that. Anyways..

This year was incredibly relaxed which I was so THANKFUL for! It ended up only being 3 sets of parents, an Aunt & Uncle and of course my husband and I!

The day started out a little rough..

My mom had been cleaning with some new wood spray that was extremely oily. Somehow it had gotten on our tile floor and I had almost slipped 3 times before.. the incident. She even tried to clean it up but it just wouldn't give. I was planning on sweeping and moping but just hadn't gotten to it yet. I had just made a name tag for one of the pies I had made and was going to set it up all pretty like. I turned around, walked through the kitchen.. and slipped. I was holding the little ceramic pumpkin and needless to say.. I guess I valued my life more than the pumpkin's because I dropped it to catch my balance and it shattered all over the ground.

I cried. Because yes, I had just enough of those little things for all the guests and pies. But it was more of a, frustrated, I'm going to cry for one minute and let it go, sort of cry so I was quickly back into cleaning and preparing the house.

Then, 3 hours early, in walks our first guests. SIGH.

The thing is, though, it didn't even matter. I quickly forgot about my shattered dreams of having an even amount of place cards and a beautiful house before anyone showed up, because the day ended up being great.

Really, really great, and so much better than I expected.

We loved hanging out and talking for hours at the dinner table and telling everyone what we are thankful for. Most our answers were Bella being in remission, and our families, and church families.

While we were still eating dinner, Nathan got up and came back a few minutes later with a good helping of pie.. guess he couldn't wait! We literally just all stopped talking and broke out into laughter.

I love that man.

I still can't believe that my life is this beautiful. I will forever be grateful to the Lord for all He has given to me even though I am so undeserving. His plans for me far exceed any I could have ever imagined.

So here's some pictures.. because let's be honest.. no post is fun without pictures.. :)

I will try my very best to get you a Christmas soon :) I hope you all had a special Thanksgiving too!
