14 & 15 week 'Bumpdate'

 14/15 Weeks
(I had throw these weeks together because I couldn't muster a post last week and I never ended up getting a 14 week picture.)

Weight: Up 3 pounds since my very first appointment 8 weeks ago.

Symptoms: Things have been a lot better! Food is starting to sound more and more appealing to me & nausea is few and far between. I got the flu this week and it.was.a-w-f-u-l. I was finally doing pretty well pregnancy wise then I got really sick. I've still had a constant runny nose & have been getting round ligament pains. I'm growing in a lot of places at this stage of pregnancy. I've noticed the "bump has become fuller at the top of my stomach now and not just a little "pooch." I haven't seen any stretch marks but I know they're coming as I have been itching like crazy.

Clothes: Always maternity bottoms or yoga pants at home & mostly regular shirts for now. The Cartwheel app at Target has 40% off one maternity item and I've been eyeing a dress so that's exciting!

Sleep: It's been pretty good. I've gone down to about 8-9 hours of sleep at night and been Ok. I did nap the other day but again, I had the flu. I don't wake up as often to use the restroom anymore but I will wake up if I've been laying on one side too long because my hips will hurt.

Cravings/Aversions: I still don't know that I have had "cravings" per say but I have enjoyed some pickles, carrots and fire Cheetos. ;) The aversions are sooooo much better. I can typically stand most foods now even if some sound better than others. My hate for water has slowly started to creep back.. but only since I had the flu. It began making me gag but I forced it anyways. I'm working on it...

Baby- Little one is doing great! We got to hear the heartbeat on Thursday for the first time. Our Dr. only had it on there for about 20 seconds before I could realize what was going on so I was kinda bummed about that. Really neat how fast it beats though! It was 154 and mine was 72! Baby is the size of an orange measuring 2.5 ounces and about 4 inches. Crazy how much he/she has grown already!

How I am feeling: Good! So thankful to be turning a corner after the rough first trimester. I have felt the baby move more and more & it's getting stronger. It's typically when I am lying down at night or early in the morning. I also loved hearing the heartbeat & knowing our little bear is growing & happy. Getting really close to our gender reveal party! It's been fun to plan and think of ways to do the "big reveal." I even bought a pink/blue dress & I can't wait to wear it! What did y'all do for your parties??

How Daddy's feeling: "Excited and a little worried I might spill the beans about whether it's a boy or girl since we'll know before the party..."

Other Stuff: I am dyinnnnggg over wanting to buy this little baby some clothes! Every time I go to Target, I send my husband picture after picture of things I would want our baby to wear! :) It's been fun dreaming about how we want the nursery to look & planning ideas as much as we can.

  1. I am scared that when my time comes way down the future....when im' pregnant that I'd get nausea and all. and have issues or worse not be able to get pregnant at all due to what an ex told me for 7 yrs. I hope things continue to go well. and hope you dont spill the beans. although i'd love to know :D

  2. Yay! So exciting! Can't wait for you to find out! :) I think a gender reveal party was the only reason I didn't like being team green. Other than that, I loved it, so I never found out.

  3. So glad you're feeling better! I got sick during the first trimester too and it was awful. But the second trimester is SO much better. Yay for energy!
I remember those round ligament pains...hoepfully they'll go away soon because they are not fun.
Here's the link to our gender reveal party - We didn't find out beforehand but you could totally do still do this: http://exodus31three.blogspot.com/2013/04/gender-reveal-party.html

  4. Rub your belly with coconut oil! It will help with itching and can help to prevent stretch marks :)
